What’s The Perfect Bedroom Design For Your Little Girl?

It is indeed easier to brainstorm for girly ideas, isn’t it? The selections and varieties for designing a girl’s bedroom are numerous. There are more colors and styles fit for girls. We can say that girls are more forgiving to use “unladylike” colors and designs than it is for boys to use “unmanly” pieces. A girl’s room can be decked in stars, planets and blues and greens and live happily. Whereas, it seems we’ll have a hard time finding a guy going about quietly with a bedroom adorned in pinks and pastels, florals and ruffles, and colorful decorations. Can they even sleep peacefully? Hence, it’s safe to say that bedroom decorating for girls is a task much less troublesome. Plus, brainstorming doesn’t take too long that is, until the fickle mind sets in.

Beachy themes are very popular, especially if you live very near a seashore or a body of water. It’s very easy to design and will surely be a hit with a girl who loves the outdoors and the water. Ocean themes can be done with a light blue or blue-green for the walls and a neutral color near beige for the floor. This should simulate the water and the sand of the real thing.

First, is the beach and outdoor theme. Nature plays a significant role for young girls who love to spend their time outdoors. Thus, if your little girl is one of these girls, you can decorate her bedroom using the colors of nature – greens, blues, white, reds, yellows, browns, etc. Just look around and you’ll get inspired by the abundance of colors everywhere. Ask your daughter which appeals to her the most. If she likes the ocean, you can use blues and greens. If she likes the sunset, you can use oranges and pinks. If she enjoys family vacations to the countryside, you can use colors found in the fields and flowers.

Second, is the stars and moon theme. This is an interesting design for girls as this is commonly associated with a boy’s room. However, you can still make the design very feminine with brighter colors and light strokes on the walls. Painting the ceiling a midnight blue will also give the bedroom a more realistic impression of being out in the vast night sky. If your daughter has a favorite star, you can paint it on the wall or the ceiling for a more personal touch.

The moon can be incorporated in the design as a deep or midnight blue. If your little girl wants a brighter shade, capturing a yellow full moon as the room’s focal point also makes for a pretty design.

Fairytales are also a favorite theme for many young girls. The Disney princesses and other characters from famous animated movies become the girls’ good friends. Most follow the setting of a castle while others make use of the key pieces in the story’s plot. For example, mermaids (The Little Mermaid), fairies or fairy godmothers, Arabian-inspired design (Aladdin) and penguins (Happy Feet). The ideas are limitless, especially nowadays when the materials for children are growing both in books, TV programs and movies. Allow your child to use her creativity and apply her loved character and story.

A cute theme that gives a relaxing and warm ambiance is the cottage or country theme, a favorite for many homeowners. Old items are most useful in this design, as well as light colors and light texture.

Regardless of the theme that you and your daughter eventually choose, remember to put a lot of lively colors and soft textures into the room to make it friendlier. A plush rug in a light or neutral color, for example, gives your child some space on the floor to play, read or lie on. It’s all about what pieces will make the space more comfortable for your child.

Keep up to date with Home Decorating trends and enhance your home with girls rugs.
